Don Hamblin
President
Don runs a mixed farming operation in partnership with his brother near Nyngan in the central west of NSW. Don was elected as the president of WPA in October 2007 and is the immediate past Chairman of the NSW Farmers Association (NSWFA) Wool Committee. Don is a director of the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA) and the Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) and is a member of NSWFA Executive Council.

Geoff Power
Vice President and SAFF Wool Committee Chair
Geoff runs a wool growing and cropping enterprise near Orroroo east of the southern Flinders ranges. Geoff was elected to the position of Senior Vice President of WPA in November 2007, is Chair of the SAFF Wool Committee and represents WPA on the federation of Australian Wool Organisations (FAWO). Geoff is a member of the national and South Australian program advisory panels for shearer and wool handler training and represents commercial wool growers on the South Australian Sheep Advisory Group (SASAG).

Geoff Fisken
Vice President and Treasurer, VFF Livestock Council
Geoff is a fifth generation wool grower from Lal Lal in the Central Highlands of Victoria, where he runs a mixed farming operation with his wife and three children. Geoff has been a member of the Victorian Farmers’ Federation (VFF) for 25 years and is the Chair of the VFF Wool Committee. Geoff was elected to the role of Deputy President/Treasurer of WPA in November 2007.

John Manwaring
NSWFarmers Wool Committee Chair
John is a fifth generation farmer on his family property near Cootamundra in NSW. He runs a self replacing flock of 5,600 commercial Merinos. John was elected Chair of the NSW Farmers’ Association Wool Committee in 2009 after serving as Committee member and Executive Councillor for 13 years. John is actively involved in the the Southwest Slopes Merino Breeder’s Group and the Bookham Ag Bureau – a fibre processing cooperative.

James Mackenzie
AgForce Sheep and Wool Committee
I have been involved in the sheep and wool industries all my life. I became actively involved in Agforce after moving to Cunnamulla in 2001 with my wife Trish and 3 children Amy, Sally and Ben. Cunnamulla is in the pastoral zone of Queensland and we are producing Merinos in a self replacing flock with surplus stock being sold into the store or prime market. I was elected to the Sheep and Wool board of Agforce in 2006 to represent the South West and appointed to WPA executive for Queensland from Agforce in September 2010.

Rosemary runs a superfine wool growing operation near Carrick in northern Tasmania. Rosemary is a member of the TFGA Wool Council.

Max Watts
Independent Director, WAFarmers Federation Vice president
Max runs a mixed farming operation near Wandering, south east of Perth in WA and is an Independent Director of WPA. Max is also the Chair of the WA Farmers’ Federation Wool Committee and the AWI Shearer Shedhand Training.

Jim Kennedy
Independent Director
Jim runs a fine wool growing enterprise with his wife Marjorie in the Western Districts of Victoria. Jim was elected as an Independent Director of WPA in 2002 and is a member of the VFF.

Charlie Merriman
Independent Director
Charlie was elected as an Independent Director of WPA in 2005. He is the principal of Merrignee Merino Stud and the co-principal of Koonwarra Merino Stud, which are located near Boorowa in the NSW Southern Tablelands. Charlie is also the president of the Greater Southern Supreme Merino Show and Sale and a Councilor of the NSW Stud Merino Breeders Association.
