Health and Welfare

The Australian wool industry is committed to improving the health and welfare of the national sheep flock, to ensure that our fibre maintains its reputation as the best in the world.

Every year Australian wool growers invest millions of dollars into research and development to improve the health and welfare of their animals.

Sheep health and welfare is a major focus for WPA, we contribute an immense amount of time and resources into health and welfare priorities some of which include emergency animal disease preparedness, long haul transport of livestock, ovine Johne’s disease, mulesing and housed sheep.
